At the far ends of our emotional spectrum lie two forces that shape our every decision: fear and love. Fear is born of the ego; love flows from our Higher Self — the divine essence that lives within each of us. When we make choices under the spell of fear, we merely feed the ego, which thrives on control and illusion. Such choices may offer fleeting satisfaction, but they never bring lasting peace. To create true success and fulfillment, we must begin to act from love — from the wholeness of our divine nature.
The ego always operates from a sense of scarcity. It pushes you to act because you feel incomplete — lacking love, money, friendship, acceptance, beauty, or status.
When the ego feels unloved, it searches desperately for affection from others. When it feels unattractive, it buys new clothes or even alters the body. When it feels poor, it overworks or deceives to fill its pockets. The ego constantly hungers, always seeking to fix what it perceives as missing — yet never looks within.
And here lies its cunning: the moment you recognize the ego’s grip and try to resist it, it quietly sneaks back through the side door. It whispers new arguments, offering fresh reasons why you should once again follow its voice.
Love stands on the opposite end of the spectrum — it operates from abundance. A person anchored in love does not seek affection from others, because they already feel it radiating from within. Even if they earn little, they sense prosperity in their heart. They feel beautiful from the inside and therefore have no urge to mask themselves with brands or plastic perfection. They do not chase acceptance, because they already accept themselves.
And even when a brief wave of lack passes through, they know that everything they truly seek already lives inside — waiting to rise again to the surface.
Ego is rush, hunger, competition. It drives the endless race of comparison, the silent cry of more, more, more. Love, on the other hand, is calm — a deep satisfaction, a quiet joy. The ego constantly wants to take; love naturally wants to give. Ego’s desire can never be satisfied — it always wants something new to grasp. Love is the feeling of already having everything you need.
Consumer industries understand the ego’s weakness well. That is why new products appear endlessly — each barely different from the last, but more expensive, shinier, louder. They know the ego cannot be fulfilled, so they keep feeding its hunger. People buy, hoping to fill an inner emptiness — yet remain spiritually starved. The corporations profit, while the soul continues to ache.
You may wonder: If I stop operating from ego — from lack, envy, or fear — will I still have motivation to move forward in life? The answer is yes. In fact, you will have even greater motivation. When you act from love, you become a vessel for divine creativity. Energy flows through you freely, ideas blossom naturally. The more you give selflessly to the world, the more life gives back to you. True giving is only possible when the ego no longer rules your actions.
Most people mistake their desires for a longing for things or people. They think they want a new car, a partner, a promotion. But beneath every desire hides a deeper need — a feeling. You don’t want the car itself; you want the feeling of being successful or admired. You don’t want the date itself; you want to feel loved, seen, and valued. What we truly chase is never the object — it’s the emotion we believe it will awaken.
For a feeling to last, it must come from within — from your Higher Self. If you try to obtain it through ego, it will fade as quickly as it came. All decisions born from ego eventually lead to suffering, because they spring from illusion and fear. But when you act from love, your actions align with divine flow. And in that flow, peace and joy are not something to reach for — they are who you already are. In truth, nothing can make you more complete than you already are in essence.
