Loneliness is one of the great problems of our world, having a profound impact on every aspect of our lives. The feeling of loneliness originates from another, deeper aspect of our personality—a sense of separation. While we feel the need to be connected to "something greater," we often paradoxically seek to separate ourselves from our surroundings. This mindset creates toxic relationships with those around us and also attracts spirits of the deceased, who fill the gap between us and the world.
This type of situation comes from our internal structure. Our Higher, divine Self takes on multiple bodies, which significantly slow down the high energy of the Higher Self to a material level. During the process of incarnating on Earth, the Higher Self first creates the mental body, which represents our thoughts. It vibrates at a much lower energy than the Higher Self. Next comes the emotional body, which is characterized by even lower energy. After that, we have the etheric body, and finally, the physical body.
The goal of the Higher Self is to "spiritualize" physical matter, but this entire process has multiple purposes. One of the main purposes is the evolution of the soul. Since the energy of the physical body is much lower than the vibration of the Higher Self, even when residing in the high energy of the mental body, we inevitably still feel separation from our true Essence, the divine Self. As humans, we feel that we exist in duality—that we are not currently what we are in Reality and not as we were created.
Fortunately, this is a temporary process, as we ultimately shed the physical body, followed by the astral and mental bodies over a long period (commonly known as death). In this process, we ascend higher and higher on the vibrational scale, moving toward "home," or the full awareness of our true Self. However, while in the physical body, most of us remain immersed in the illusion of physical, emotional, and mental consciousness due to desires, fears, emotions, and bodily needs.
Through spiritual practices, a person begins to see that matter is merely a manifestation or reflection of higher, spiritual truths, leading to a slow process of detachment from material, emotional, and lower mental concerns.
It is precisely those who seek to free themselves from this illusion who are drawn to spiritual development. This first phase of spiritual growth is often fraught with dangers, such as contact with low astral energies (emotional energies, including spirits) and the risk of becoming possessed by them. This is a natural part of the development process—everyone must go through it. This is why we have repeatedly emphasized that the issue of spirit possession primarily affects those who strive for higher states but do so without full awareness and understanding.
Returning to loneliness—the human psyche is filled with various, often mistaken beliefs, which form the construction called personality. Each of us has a very specific structure in this regard. In this stage, it can be a major problem, as we tend to reject people who share our own negative character traits. The world and people reflect our positive and negative qualities back to us, and because we reject our own negative traits, we also reject those who exhibit them. This often leads to a sense of loneliness within our personality.
Those who develop spiritually gradually become more attuned and begin to recognize the existence of subtle realms. It then becomes easier to find a being (spirit) in the astral world, rather than the physical world, who will be better suited to our emotional structure. This results in a connection with wandering spirits and ultimately leads to great suffering caused by symptoms of spirit possession—energy exhaustion on a mental and physical level, mood swings, aggression, depression, anxiety, phobias, and many other symptoms.
From the proverbial "frying pan into the fire," we then suffer even more. The way out of this difficult, and for some even tragic, situation is to ensure freedom from spirits that we have attracted through our subconscious desire for companionship, and to learn how to maintain that freedom permanently. As an organization, we offer these two aspects in the form of a long, three-month spirit removal process. During this process, spirits are led away from us, and we are taught how to maintain our freedom from them permanently.
Once we achieve lasting freedom from spirits, we can begin true spiritual development, as it is only then that we will be truly alone with ourselves. The development process will no longer be mixed with a spirit's own emotional problems, and true growth will not be possible until that time. We cannot work on someone else's problems; we can only do this work for our own soul.
To detach from the material, spiritual purification is necessary. This primarily involves freeing ourselves from astral (emotional) influences, followed by meditation, contemplation, and the elimination of desires and selfish pursuits. The less we identify with our physical body and lower mental inclinations, the closer we get to our spiritual essence.
The ultimate goal is to transcend personality and understand that we are one with all Existence. This means that consciousness, freed from material limitations, then experiences cosmic Unity, and the problem of loneliness ceases to exist once and for all. However, the first very encouraging signals come to us as we begin to see more clearly that material reality is not the only reality in which we live as human beings.
