In Part 1 of the post, What Can Spirit Possession Teach Us, we learned the lessons that await us when we are careless about our emotional relationships with our deceased loved ones. Today's post will expand upon that knowledge.
Spirit possession teaches us that we need to be well aware of what our emotions are doing, where we are sending them, and most importantly, what desires we are creating. Without this awareness, we establish the automatism mentioned in Part 1, which will attract us to situations, places, circumstances or people that may not be beneficial or healthy for us. What was good for us yesterday may not be so today or tomorrow.
Another aspect that we learn very intensely when another soul stay with us is the control of our own emotions. The emotions of spirits are generally negative and very strong, and when we allow them to operate, we in turn destroy many aspects of our lives, including our relationships, finances, projects, and almost all facets of our daily life. We need to learn that we must not express our emotions as they come, but instead, we must be able to control them. This is one of the first lessons.
The possessed people who come to us for help when asked if they feel a lot of negative emotions say that not so much anymore. Before they used to react with very strong emotions much more often. They simply had to learn not to react, not to speak, not to act or even to think under the influence of the possession.
Please remember that we must never express negative emotions because they will only lead to suffering of one kind or another. Negative emotions are based on fear, and as a wise man once said, "Any decision made because of fear is a bad decision."
Here is an exercise for all those who have trouble controlling their emotions. It is quite simple, but, it may take you months to do it correctly. The key is being able to count backwards from 100. Whenever we are flooded with negative emotions, we must do our best not to express them. So we must stop fighting or arguing under their influence, or even thinking. We suggest that you sit down or lie down and start counting—100, 99, 98, and so on. You'll soon notice that at 98, your mind may return to thinking about the problem that caused the negative emotion, but the purpose of this exercise is to count, not to think about the problem or feel the negative emotion. So if your mind runs into negative emotions, worries, obsessive thoughts, etc., calmly take notice of this and start counting again from 100.
Pay attention that you count consciously and do not let your subconscious count for you. When you have successfully counted from 100 to 1 without your mind wandering, you will have done this exercise correctly.
People have different abilities to concentrate. Some will find this exercise easier, others more difficult. However, the first successes in calming your own emotions will slowly reassure you because it will give you inner peace and it will be worth all the effort to master it perfectly.
If you think about it carefully, this exercise is designed to free yourself from the low vibrations of the astral world and thereby raising your own positive vibrations. It can be used whenever spirits return to us during or after spirit removal process.
A very important lesson coming from spirit possession is the ability to examine one's own thoughts and motivations. This is because spirits, who in most cases are our beloved family members, are most often low energy functioning on the level of the survival instinct. When the spirit was alive, they were most likely a kind and caring person. However, their decision to stay among the living people changed them completely. They have locked all their positive qualities deep within their hearts and only keep the low aspects of their survival instinct on the outside. The most important consideration for the spirit then becomes what they have to do to attract as much energy as possible from a living loved one. An important lesson from possession is to free oneself from all the low emotions from the astral world like anger, hatred, envy, desire for revenge, and aggressiveness, which are all based on the fear for survival.
Another very important lesson from possession is the importance of forgiveness. This is a vital part of the process of freeing ourselves from another soul because we will always resent the spirit for staying with us. In a sense, the spirit is partly responsible for the possession. After all, at some point, they made the decision to stay near the physical world and to remain with us. Of course, this decision was also made by ourselves, and we will have to forgive not only the soul that stayed with us, but also for ourselves that attracted this soul in the first place. This may have been the result of an automatic, unconscious process, but the responsibility for the creation of such automatism was taken on by ourselves—it did not happen by chance and without our participation.
Generally, the lesson of freeing yourself of spirits is only for the mature, strong soul of the living. If possession is your problem, remember that you have come very far in your development, even though you may be under the illusion that it is not due to all the problems that are piling up in front of you. It is important to remember that this is an illusion, that all these problems are only to give you motivation and strength to overcome them, and that the sun is rising in front of you and the dawn of the wonderful horizons of the real freedom from the astral world.
