A Dialogue Within: The Dance Between Intuition and Ego

Embarking on the journey of self-observation, you will discern a ceaseless dialogue transpiring within your mind. This internal conversation segregates itself into two distinct aspects - the positive and the negative. The affirmative discourse stems from your intuition, an echo of your Higher Self, while the negative chatter is the product of your ego. Today, we delve deeper into the aspect of ego, for it can be the source of tribulation and inflict suffering.

Recognizing the Voice Within: The Dance Between Intuition and Ego?

Your initial task is to be capable of discerning the identity of the speaker within you at any given moment. Is it your intuition guiding you or your ego veering you off course? If it is your intuition, the messages it transmits will either be positive or neutral. They will be infused with love, compassion, and goodwill. You'll sense a spiritual elevation. The ego, being the antithesis of your intuition and Higher Self, will deliver messages teeming with sorrow, regret, anger, fear, envy, a desire for conflict, or revenge. The ego is incredibly cunning.

Under the ego's influence, you may initially feel an energy boost, for instance, it can convince you to engage in a battle, bolstering your power with anger. But this is merely a temporary illusion. Acting under the influence of negative energy always culminates in negative repercussions.

The Energy Diet of Ego: Negative Nourishment

The ego needs energy to function and expand, but not all energies suit its palate. It craves exclusively negative energy, the kind that can drag you further down. As previously alluded to, the ego is incredibly crafty and will employ a plethora of tactics to lower your vibrations, allowing you to indulge in negative energy and feed your ego.

Often, we say someone has a 'big ego' when they boast, glorify their achievements or wealth, incessantly talk about themselves, and so on. But this is merely one manifestation of ego-influence. Let's illustrate with an example.

A Case Study: The Ego’s Influence

Imagine you have finally decided to open your heart and confide in a friend about your marital issues. Unable to mask the truth any longer, you tell her about catching your husband cheating, lavishing a significant amount of money on his mistress while begrudgingly sparing any for you. During the conversation, you are visibly shaking and crying. Once you finish narrating your ordeal, your friend abruptly changes the subject to the fantastic vacation she just returned from. You are instantly filled with incandescent rage.

You think to yourself, "How can she be so indifferent towards my feelings? How can she ignore what I just disclosed and nonchalantly brush it aside?" You feel an urge to yell, to attack, to fume. You feel rejected, insignificant, and wish your friend would vanish from sight.

Recognize that you are under the sway of ego. Sure, from one perspective, you might seem justified in your anger as your friend behaved coldly. But wait, hold on... it's your ego narrating this story, giving you the right to be angry. It's the ego that stirs when you start blaming, accusing, seeking revenge, expressing anger, or isolating yourself. Remember, the ego is crafty and cunning.

The Choice: Ego or Higher Self?

When you experience emotional discomfort, when someone triggers you, you are faced with a choice. Will you react to the situation from the standpoint of your ego or your Higher Self, or in other words, Love? You could ask yourself: what would love do in my position? Would love start berating your friend, argue, blame, or would it find compassion, understanding, and not insist on someone understanding your situation. Love knows that you possess immense inner strength that can overcome all problems, and external support isn't mandatory. Love knows you matter, regardless of whether someone pays attention to you or not. Love makes you feel secure at all times. However, the ego always feels threatened, insecure and will prompt you to attack whenever you dislike something or when someone doesn't meet your expectations.

The ego cannot be annihilated. You can only control it and not grant it power. It's a daunting task but yields enormous benefits. Individuals who don't let their egos control them lead peaceful lives full of compassion and love. It's also worth noting that such people most likely won’t experience spirit possession because they operate at high vibrations where they are always secure. Let love be your guide!
