How Intense Desire to Help Others Can Attract Spirits

How Intense Desire to Help Others Can Attract Spirits?

Today we continue the topic begun in the last post describing characteristics of spirits that, during their lifetime, devoted themselves to the study of spiritual growth and then after the death of the physical body lost their way, didn’t transition to the other side, and stayed close to the earthly, material sphere of influence. Then, in order to have the energy to continue their existence, they try to "advise" the living engaged in similar activity: namely, spiritual growth.

What Happens to Spirits After Death?

What Happens to Spirits After Death

Since these spirits occupy the lowest regions of the astral world, they will be influenced by these regions, and so outwardly express such negative emotions as anger, rage, hatred, or fear. Understandably, it may be hard to believe that someone who tried to expand their consciousness toward higher and higher levels of Light could be characterized by such negative traits.

Therefore we must remember that people striving for spiritual growth don’t always work through their negative emotions during their lives on Earth. Of course, if this isn’t the primary goal of every human being, then it should be. At the moment of transition from the physical to the astral/emotional world, we ought to be completely cleansed of any negative emotions. However, working on our own negative emotions can be a lifelong task, and who knows -  may even take many incarnations.

The Power of Collective Emotion Containers

If negative emotions aren’t cleansed and corrected, they’ll attract the soul to the low levels of the astral/emotional world. Then the soul will be forced to cleanse these emotions in the astral/emotional world, which is a slow and painful process.

This is because the negative emotions collected during one’s lifetime will have to be worked out, and painfully experienced as the energy that one placed in one’s emotional body. This brings great suffering, for one’s negative emotions will attract one to the collective "containers" of the astral/emotional world, which have corresponding labels indicating their nature, such as "Anger," "Rage," "Hatred," "Anxiety," etc.

In previous posts, the reasons for the formation of these powerful collective “containers” have already been described; so just as a reminder, I’ll say that they’re extremely powerful in nature, as they were created by all of humanity over a very long evolutionary period.

So we can imagine that if a spirit has died with any anxiety, anger, etc., the spirit will remain on the level of the astral world that’s called "Anxiety" or "Anger," etc. However, the spirit will experience these emotions many times more strongly than it did during its physical life, because its physical body no longer exists, and no longer provides any buffer between its true inner being and the collective “containers” labeled "Anxiety" or "Anger," etc.

How Do Negative Emotions of Spirits Affect the Living?

If such a spirit influences a spiritually evolving person, the spirit’s emotions begin to enter the person, which generates tremendous anxiety, anger, or hatred in the person, depending on which negative emotions the spirit carries in its emotional body.

Many people who’ve been possessed by such a spirit often have an overwhelming need to help others. This is due to the fact that the spirit, during its lifetime, developed the habit of acting toward the well-being of others. This trait in itself is wonderful, causing one to distance oneself from one's ego, and to direct one's attention toward the well-being of others.

However, if your desire to help isn’t grounded in true, divine love, and if you choose to help because you think this is the way to develop spiritually - or, even worse, if you choose to be helpful out of guilt - then even if you’re being helpful you won't feel it at all, as it were, because you’re not feeling love in the process. This is, rather, helping not because your soul or love is speaking through you, but because you thought it was “the right thing to do.”

Eventually, helping becomes a compulsion that gains more power every day. It becomes a habit, and then a desire, and next even a passion. People possessed by such types of "spirit guides" are characterized precisely by their overwhelming compulsion to help others, otherwise known as the “helper syndrome.”

How Dangerous Can Misguided Messianism Be?

Often, it’s not even an individual’s own desire at all. They merely wanted to spiritually develop themselves, until a spirit came to them that had an intense desire in life to "save" others. This category includes all those driven by so-called messianism: the compulsion to pull humanity out of the shackles of materialism. Again, a desire that’s perfectly fine in and of itself: but it must come not from a yearning to help, but rather from purely true, divine love. So if you have the qualities mentioned here, please consider that you may be driven by spirits that became lost after the death of the physical body.

In our next post, we’ll continue examination of this vast topic.
