feeling special and spirit possession

Is Your Need to Feel Special Making You Vulnerable to Spirit Possession?

Possession is never random. It always stems from a resonance — a meeting point between the qualities of a person and those of a spirit. When these align, they form a kind of unity. However, spirits don’t amplify what’s good in us — they intensely reinforce the negative aspects. This happens across a wide range of human personality traits. Today, let’s take a closer look at one such trait: the feeling of being special.

The Feeling of Being Special: A Double-Edged Sword

The sense of being unique is a significant part of human psychology. It carries both positive and negative potential. On the bright side, it helps build healthy self-confidence and inspires motivation. When someone becomes aware of their individual talents, characteristics, or skills, they gain inner strength — the courage to take on challenges and pursue goals.

Such self-awareness allows people to believe that they have something valuable to offer the world. It fosters perseverance. The feeling of uniqueness also helps in discovering one’s calling. By focusing on what sets us apart, we more easily find areas in which we can flourish and contribute meaningfully.

People who recognize their uniqueness also tend to have greater emotional resilience. They can handle criticism without falling apart, viewing it as feedback rather than a judgment of their worth. Embracing one’s individuality leads to authenticity — to living without hiding behind masks or pretending to be someone else. This authenticity supports creativity and innovative thinking. Those who appreciate their uniqueness are more inclined to take risks, to experiment, to go beyond the familiar. God has given each of us a task that only we can fulfill. We are all essential to the whole.

When the Sense of Uniqueness Turns Against Us

However, there’s a darker side to this trait. When the sense of being special crosses the line from healthy self-worth into something inflated, it becomes problematic. It can turn into narcissism or egocentrism — where one sees themselves as the center of the universe, and others merely as tools to achieve personal aims.

This kind of mindset makes it difficult to form deep, empathetic relationships. When someone is entirely focused on themselves, they lose the ability to truly see and respond to the emotions and needs of others. An exaggerated sense of uniqueness often leads to unrealistic expectations — of oneself and of others — which inevitably brings disappointment and frustration.

People overly convinced of their specialness also tend to reject criticism and refuse to acknowledge their mistakes. This blocks personal, professional, and spiritual growth. It can lead to isolation, as the individual starts to believe no one understands them or is worthy of their attention. On a societal level, widespread belief in personal superiority can erode community bonds and solidarity, replacing them with hyper-individualism and competition.

These are exactly the traits that spirits aim to provoke and strengthen when we let them in. The bond between a human and a spirit amplifies the dark side of feeling special. The spirit offers the illusion of being someone extraordinary. This happens because it shares with us its knowledge — which can be quite extensive — and its astral way of viewing reality, often drastically different from our human perception.

Moreover, spirits can read surface-level thoughts and emotions of others. This distorted form of insight may seem fascinating at first. Some even find it extraordinary. But that fascination quickly turns against the possessed.

The Early Stages of Possession: When We Don't Realize What’s Happening

In the beginning, it’s hard to notice that a spirit has begun to influence our behavior. We don’t immediately see that our vibration is dropping, that our mood is becoming more negative. Yet the spirit is highly interested in staying close to us — because in doing so, it draws energy from us. The more we react to its negative whisperings, the more of our vital force we surrender.

A spirit cannot strengthen the positive within us. After death, it became trapped in a deeply negative emotional realm — the astral plane. It has no access to the luminous levels of the higher worlds.

This is the phase where we must be especially vigilant. Only by becoming aware of our emotional states can we realize that we are slipping more often into irritation, anger, or even hatred. Pausing and honestly observing what’s happening within us allows us to defend ourselves from this outside influence. At this early stage of possession, we still have control over our emotional life.

At this point, the spirit has not yet fully merged with our emotional body. We still have a choice — to either deepen the bond with the spirit or begin distancing ourselves. If we blindly follow its moods, we reinforce the connection. But if we pause and pull back at the first sign of emotional disturbance, we will begin to notice that this feeling didn’t originate within us. It came from outside — from the spirit.

Even though we may have a tendency to follow the spirit’s emotional suggestions, our responsibility is to reflect and recognize the consequences of giving in to negative feelings. That is how we create distance between ourselves and the spirit.

When the Spirit Gains Power: Emotional Dependency Sets In

Later, once the connection has strengthened, the spirit finds it easier to project its suffering onto us — suffering born from its own negative emotions. At this stage, we may become its puppet. Now, we need the help of a professional spirit removal process.

The spirit doesn’t store the energy it takes from the possessed. Its energetic system is like a bucket full of holes. Whatever it takes, it quickly loses — which only increases its hunger. It becomes aggressive and relentless in trying to take more from us. As a result, our mood becomes increasingly unstable, and we lose control over our emotions.

The key to healthy functioning is restoring balance. The first step is going through a spirit removal process performed by a professional. The second is developing awareness of our emotional life — appreciating our uniqueness and inner value, while also understanding that every human being is special in their own way and deserves respect. Simply by existing, every person has something unique to offer the world — and that makes each of us indispensable.

This kind of mindset allows us to benefit from a healthy sense of self-worth without falling into the traps of self-centeredness or following the spirit’s whispers.
