Understanding feelings of guilt and how it attracts spirits

In today's post, we will be discussing another aspect that has great power to attract spirits of deceased beings to us: guilt and blame.

How Do Guilt and Blame Impact Our Lives?

How Do Guilt and Blame Impact Our Lives

Guilt and blame is a widespread phenomenon, although most people suffering from this affliction do not fully realize it. Generally, guilt is a negative emotion that has a strong negative impact on one's life because it demands punishment. Feeling guilty and wanting punishment are two sides of the same coin. Where there is guilt there is always punishment waiting to be unloaded on the person who holds the guilt.

Guilt therefore works negatively on our psyche and attracts us to situations in the physical world that include punishment or suffering. The feeling of guilt is a form of accusation, of a grudge against oneself, and it invites punishment because the perception of most people is that reprehensible behavior always requires punishment.

The Origin of Guilt: Misinterpretation of Events

Guilt comes from misperceiving what is really going on in our lives. Suppose that someone was wronged and we had some connection to it. The connection may be totally irrelevant, it may even be totally absent, but our mind still assigns blame. Let me give you an example; a child's parent dies and in most such cases the child blames himself for the death. Although the child was not involved in the car accident, the child tells himself that if he had been good that morning, the parent would not have been nervous while driving and would not have caused the fatal accident.

Most people do the same in a wide variety of everyday situations. Their mind defines the situation inconsistently with the real state, as in the example with the child, which they usually do not notice and do not correct on the fly. It is also common to see blaming/torturing on the part of those affected and such blaming to be picked up by the people at whom the resentment is directed. For example, a wife takes her spouse's phone charger into her room and the spouse gets angry that he missed a very important call because his phone is out of power. In his nerves, the spouse fails to consider that it was his responsibility to make sure his own phone was charged, that it was irrelevant that his wife took the charger.

Such cases are very common, because in our world there is a very widespread model of blaming everything and everyone for our own shortcomings, including God.

Is Karma Real and How Does it Work in Our Lives?

The truth is, of course, that only things happen to us that we have earned ourselves. Sending out energy in the form of emotions, thoughts, words or actions, cause the same energy to come back to us, usually multiplied. In the East this is called "karma". Knowing this, a person who is honest with themselves will always look for the cause of what happens in the form of suffering in their own psyche, in their own thoughts and emotions. And in the event that they have already overcome a weakness and the consequences of that weakness are yet to come, they know that it is only the result of their old way of thinking. So they calmly accept these discharges of negative energy understanding that eventually they will stop, because they are no longer energized by the new energy of the previous negative habit. This is the mechanism for how karma works in everyday life.

However, the consequences of guilt do not end there. Anyone who reads this website knows that all reincarnated humans live in a space filled with beings who have already lost their physical bodies but have not crossed over to the other side of death's curtain. On that side of life, in the lower realm of spirits, there are a great number of ghosts who both feel guilt and blame others.

So if we feel guilt or send resentment towards those around us we will attract such beings. If we often feel guilt, we will create a thought-form in which we will be the victim, and will attract both physically incarnated people and also the deceased who have a tendency to blame others, to send resentment to others, the so-called executioner.

The Role of Guilt in Attracting Spirits

This allows our sense of guilt - our victim attitude - to attract spirits who will play the role of executioner. This role suits the spirits well because they are able to get close to us because we have common characteristics, after all, we as the victim want to receive punishment from the executioner. The spirit will be happy to play this role because it will, through its proximity to us, take energy away from us which is crucial to its survival. Spirits are constantly looking for ways to get close to people because spirits that have not gone into the afterlife do not receive energy from any source. So if they can steal this energy from us they will ensure their continued existence in their own world.

The situation is identical with people who have the habit of constantly blaming others and directing their resentment against them. They will attract spirits of the same nature. A person who is angry with others will attract angry spirits. A spirit, however, has much more anger than a person, and as a result a person can often lose control of his or her emotions.

The first step in getting rid of guilt is to constantly observe our own emotions in order to recognize that these tendencies are occurring. The next step is to forgive yourself. We have written about forgiveness many times. This blog post best describes how to go about the forgiveness process. Forgiveness not only helps to get rid of heavy emotional burden, but also protects from attracting spirits.
