The topic of our last post was an introduction to consciously generating gratitude, as an ideal way to raise one's own vibration. While consistently practicing gratitude isn’t easy, it does easily create amazing results. At even a beginner's level, we see what a great feeling gratitude can be, and we’ll want to practice it regularly in our lives. The more we build gratitude into our emotional body, the more we see our entire lives change increasingly for the better.

Not only do we become more equipped to control the influence of spirits and negative emotions of the astral world on our lives, but we also benefit from the impact of gratitude on our relationships, our finances, health, and above all: on our increasing awareness that we are always moving toward our true Home: God.

As mentioned in our last post, gratitude isn’t an easy art to master. For when you consciously work on gratitude, all your issues with ingratitude suddenly show up in force - and believe me when I tell you that the impacts of ingratitude at this stage are numerous. So expect this practice to evolve over a period of time. Some of you experiencing even your first real flashes of gratitude will know that it’s the real thing, and feel perhaps too self-assured, in your enthusiasm. So take a moderate approach: the more steadily you raise your vibration, the more you release the ingratitude that have kept you in the prison of negative emotions thus far.  


How to Navigate Negative Emotions and Foster Spiritual Growth?

With this exercise, you’ll find spiritual development: or in other words, you’ll be constantly raising your vibration. Yet on the way, negative emotions will keep showing up. You may even think you’re moving in the wrong direction, once you keep revisiting states of negative emotion that you know from the past. Some of you may even be frightened by wondering whether you could easily attract more spirits to you, in this state. But rest assured: don’t worry, this will not happen, if you don’t get frightened by the spirits.

The spirits came to you previously only to reinforce your negative emotions, so you would notice that you have them. Formerly, you walked through life with emotions like anger or jealousy because you literally didn’t know (or feel) any better. So the Universe had to shake you up a bit, to remind you that real life isn’t truly like those feelings at all. This is the only reason why the Universe gives its consent to such possession.

You’re now, I hope, reflecting on your emotions and elevating them much more regularly -  and if so, you won’t allow the spirits to return to you. Consider that the spirits have already played their part in teaching you to practice ”the higher life.” Watch your fears; observe your Self; release all repressed emotions of trauma the moment you find them: and you’ll see your life getting better and better.


Releasing Repressed Emotions and Embracing Moderation

Whenever negative emotions arise, let them merely flow through you: absolutely do not involve your thoughts in them, for then you’ll only be reinforcing old patterns. This will not be easy at first: repressed emotions have a great deal of energy that we long ago colored with great suffering (anger, rage, fear etc) and buried.

So of course powerful emotions now escaping your subconscious can bewilder you. Though you may know such things happen, suppressed emotions have a very strong, even hypnotic effect on one. So it may seem that the “reality” of the suppressed emotion (always something very strongly negative), once witnessed and released, might still reign permanently over your life. But this is never the case. It is only an illusion, remember that this is not reality, but an old repressed emotion. Once you let go of it, you will see it go away, when you let it. Then you’ll return to the higher state you were in before you repressed it.


The Catharsis Process and the Path to Freedom

Although you need to repeatedly go through this peculiar phase of self-cleansing, otherwise known as catharsis, it may happen that with each successive release of these blocked emotions you find yourself re-experiencing or believing again in the negative reality imposed upon you by the energy of those suppressed emotions.

This is exactly where my appeal for moderation comes from, because you don't want your subconscious to lead you into a state of constantly reworking your past. That would be far too burdensome. Therefore, especially in this practice’s beginning, you must take ample time to relax after each of these emotional-body cleanses, allowing plenty of time for rejuvenation before taking on the next one. A great rule of thumb is that the stronger the negative emotion, the more times you will have to review and release it. Each time you move through this, you’ll grow more confident that it’s just part of a process that will always lead us to freedom.
